The “Edge of Glory” singer shocked her fans Tuesday night when she brought a gun onstage in her Milan Born This Way tour.
The Mother Monster wore a flowing white gown, matching fur coat and a circular headpiece – wielding a giant machine gun in her hands.
Later in the show, Mother Monster also donned a black bra-let with guns strapped to the front. But this isn't the first time we are seeing these controversial on-stage antics. Gaga’s No. 1 critic, Madonna, pulled similar stunts on her MDNA tour this past summer, when she also totted a gun and other violent imagery on stage.
However, Madonna defended her actions in a post titled “The MDNA Tour — In Madonna’s Own Words.” The singer explained:
“It’s true there is a lot of violence in the beginning of the show and sometimes the use of fake guns, but they are used as metaphors.”
“I do not condone violence or the use of guns,” she continued. “Rather, they are symbols of wanting to appear strong and wanting to find a way to stop feelings that I find hurtful or damaging.”
